A lecture and field course treating the nature, methodologies, and problems of plant taxonomy. Aspects of nomenclature, classification, and floristics are treated. Representative families of vascular plants are studied with particular reference to the local flora. (At least two field trips are required outside of class hours.) Prerequisites: BIOL 222.
