3 hours. (3 hours lecture). Measurement tools and systems ranging from basic graduated scale instruments to electronic and pneumatic measurement with emphasis related to quality control. Measurement done by comparison, optical flats, guage blocks, surface measurement and the coordinate measuring machine. Elements of geometric dimensioning and tolerance covered. Requires open laboratory. May be taken for honors.
