3 hours. Introduction to language development and language disorders. Will provide the professional educator with knowledge of the theories of language development, types of language disorders, the neurological basis of language development/disorders, language and discourse processing, characteristics of classroom language/ discourse, and the development of literacy. Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education required for undergraduate students or permission of instructor.
