The function of guidance in relation to children's needs, the principles and techniques of guidance, the function of different guidance workers, and supervised experiences employing principles and techniques of guidance in the elementary school. Includes supervised practice and critique of counseling in elementary schools. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. Formal application must be made the semester before enrollment in PSYCH 824 Practicum in Elementary School Guidance and Counseling.
