3 hours; 9 practicum hours per week. Clinical application focuses on the management of common health problems seen in individuals/families through the life span, current research and theory based interventions appropriate for management by beginning advanced registered nurse practitioners. Utilization of strategies and protocols to manage common health problems, interventions to include pharmacological therapies to restore urban/rural individual/family's level of pre-illness health, and positive lifestyle behaviors. Consideration is given to legal, ethical and economic concerns. Collaboration and consultation (including referrals) with appropriate health care providers is emphasized. Corequisite: NURS 806 Primary Care I: Management of Common Health Problems Throughout the Life Span.
