3 hours. Capstone clinical experiences averaging nine hours per week; total 144 hours. The FNP student will implement the role of the nurse practitioner. The course is designed for the FNP student to relate theory to practice, to include pharmacological therapies, protocols and strategies for legal/ethical/economic issues in the advance practice role, delivering primary care in family practice or equivalent settings to individuals/families. Prerequisites: NURS 806 Primary Care I: Management of Common Health Problems Throughout the Life Span/NURS 807 Primary Care I Practicum: Management of Common Health Problems Throughout the Life Span. Corequisites: Nurs 812 Primary Care II: Management of Complex Health Problems Throughout the Life Span/NURS 813 Primary Care II Practicum: Management of Complex Health Problems Throughout the Life Span.
