3 hours. Introduction to fundamental techniques for obtaining research funding, including both government and private sources, types of solicitations, rules, strategies, and proposal formats. Prerequisite: PHYS 516 Modern Physics. These courses have no science or mathematics prerequisites and may be taken by students whose degree programs do not call for specific physics or chemistry courses.
