(0-3-1) Physical and chemical principles of freshwater systems, instrumental design and operating methods for measuring pH, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, nitrate, turbidity and conductivity. A five-week series of self-paced tutorials on CD followed by an extended, instructor-led laboratory to be conducted on a designated Saturday. Prerequisite: CHE 201 or CHE 221 or instructor consent.
