The practicum in special education will provide a supervised experience in designing and implementing individualized instructional sessions for a small group of learners with mild/moderate disabilities in the areas of learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disabilities, and mental retardation. Students will use and develop acquired knowledge and skills as they experience opportunities in the remediation of learning problems, teaming and conferencing with parents and professionals, and the preparation of summary reports and confidential folders. Practicum students will observe and experience a variety of settings at different levels (PK-12).
