This course emphasizes the development of motor, cognitive, academic, social, language, affective, career, and functional life skills for individuals with mild/moderate disabilities, including mild/moderate learning disabilities, mild/moderate emotional behavioral disorders, and mild/moderate mental retardation. There will be an emphasis on instructional and remedial methods, techniques, and curriculum materials. The course will also cover life skills instruction relevant to independent, community, and personal living and employment. Cultural perspectives influencing the relationship instruction for individuals with exceptional learning needs will be emphasized.
