This course prepares early childhood professionals to use knowledge of how children develop and learn to provide opportunities that support the physical, social, emotional, language, cognitive, and aesthetic development of all young children, from birth through age eight. The course also provides knowledge of how students differ in their development and prepares future teachers to apply knowledge of cultural, linguistic, and disabilities to political, social, and family contexts. This course also includes five (5) hours of observation of young children.
