Three credits. Prerequisites: Admission to candidacy; RIM 1230 or MUTH 1110. (Not available to students enrolled in or who have completed MUTH 1120.) Continuation of RIM 1230. Furthering the application of musical concepts previously learned to popular music. Topics include syncopation, modulation, two-handed accompaniment patterns, and selected secondary chords. Introduction to music notation software and the preparation of a lead sheet. Laboratory required.
