Topics include mathematics of supply, demand, and equilibrium; prices, costs, and the gains from trade; consumer behavior; elasticities; competition; monopoly; market power, collusion, and oligopoly; the mathematics of risk and uncertainty; and surplus economics. For students in Actuarial Science, a preparatory course for the Society of Actuaries/Casualty Actuarial Society Course/Exam 2.
