The course will address the preliminary design skills and the process of design associated with basic issues in architecture presented as a series of projects that each connect patterns of use, specific building materials, formal aspects of materials in context, space and meaning. Issues will include building and ground, building and light, definition of the edge and screens, programs and sizes of use, material frameworks and organization, orientation and context. Prerequisites: AD1XX & AD1X1 Type: critique(4hrs) Culturally Diverse Content Enrollment: departmental required
