Drawing has a long and rich history, and this course is an attempt to encourage students to create a vocabulary of skills. Through looking and practice, each student learns tools to apply to their individual creative work in order to develop a coherent language of expression. Cross-disciplinary in nature, drawings are a means of communication - of ideas, objects, and places. Working from direct observation, students begin with small sketches at a human scale and build upon their work in diverse contexts.
