Expression in the Preschool: Music and Movement is a one-credit-hour course designed to provide an overview of the inclusion of these topics in the early childhood setting. The potential of vocal and instrumental music to engage children in an active learning environment is stressed. In this course, music and movement activities are considered tools that support learning, and students will explore ways that careful structuring of developmentally appropriate musical activities can support cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth of children and contribute to the development of a healthy classroom environment.
