The design of consumer product packaging must meet the complex and sometimes conflicting needs of manufacturers, distributors, retailers and consumers. Building upon the fundamental package design concepts and problem-solving skills developed in prerequisite(s) coursework, students will learn advanced techniques for the creation of sophisticated package designs through the use of both traditional and digital layout, typography, graphics, photography, as well as two-dimensional and three-dimensional design techniques.
