This course covers the theory and application of the processes and techniques in preparing art for reproduction. Working with conventional and digital techniques, students will learn how to follow a production workflow including pre-press, on-press, and post-press processes. A thorough understanding of the production phase will enable designers to create more effective solutions during the initial design phase. Students will learn to consult with printers and service bureaus for project-specific technical assistance and price quotes. Prerequisite(s): VIS 122, VIS 210, VIS 220, VIS 222 (3,0) 3 credits
