This is a beginning language course which covers basic linguistic structures of Spanish. The course differs from the traditional academic course only in its emphasis on developing vocabulary useful for careers in business, economics, or finance. Both oral and written communication skills will be developed. The course contains realistic dialogues focusing on business themes. Practical application of new structures is provided by vocabulary enrichment, role-playing situations, and other communicative activities. In addition, appropriate supplementary readings and practice in writing business letters, memos, and reports will be provided. (3,0) 3 credits Fall
