This course covers the basics of customer relations and quality in industry and includes discussion of quality management principles and standards as well as communication techniques such as questionnaires to measure and assure customer satisfaction. The American Customer Satisfaction Index, J. D. Power and Associates Reports; Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award; International Organization for Standardization (ISO 9000) Standards; and Automotive Quality (QS-9000) Standards will be discussed in the context of customer services and managerial responsibilities. Note: Students completing this course may not receive credit for BUS 316 Prerequisite(s): BUS 300 or IND 301 (3,0) 3 credits
