This course introduces students to the fundamentals of industrial hygiene as well as to a recognition of health hazards in the facility environment. This course includes analysis of solvents, particulates, industrial dermatoses, industrial noise, ionizing radiation, nonionizing radiation, temperature extremes, biological hazards, and indoor air quality issues. A study of methods with which to evaluate exposures to hazardous substances; a detailed analysis of control programs; and an examination of environmental protection acts and amendments are also included.
