This course is a continuation of MTH 245. Topics include further study of eigenvalues and eigenvectors, inner product spaces orthogonality, least squares problems, symmetric matrices, diagonalization, quadratic forms and the singular value decomposition. Applications to Markov chains, constrained optimization, differential equations, statistics and image processing, among others, will be shown. Prerequisite(s): MTH 245 (3,0) 3 credits
