An introduction to communications signals and circuits. Topics include: tuned amplifiers, simple audio and radio frequency oscillators, interpretation and application of Fourier Series, mathematics of amplitude, frequency, and phase modulation, single sideband suppressed carrier techniques, basic transmitter circuitry, super-heterodyne receiver for various communication modes. The course concludes with multiplexing as applied to F-M Stereo and an introduction to digital communications concepts on a time permitting basis. Formal Report writing is part of the Laboratory requirement. Prerequisite(s): EET 222 (3,3) 4 credits Spring
