EE T422 - Control Systems I

Institution:
Farmingdale State College
Subject:
Description:
A combined lecture/laboratory course in the analysis/design of continuous linear time-invariant systems. Topics covered include: Review of Laplace transforms and their applications, transfer functions, impulse, step and frequency response of first and second order systems; system black diagram representations, signal flow graphs and modeling of mechanical systems and their electrical analogues; feedback control system characteristics, sensitivity, steady state errors and performance parameters in terms of overshoot, speed and settling time. The laboratory is used to demonstrate and/or extend the lecture topics and makes considerable use of available software (e.g. PSPICE).
