Topics include: quality and global competitiveness; human resources and technology; total quality approach; strategic management; quality management and ethics; partnering for competitiveness; quality culture; customer satisfaction and retention; employee empowerment; leadership and change; team building and teamwork; communication and interpersonal relations; education and training; overcoming politics and negativity toward quality in the workplace; relationship of ISO 9000 and Total Quality Management. A written assignment will be required that integrates quality philosophies and concepts with management and human resources issues. Note: Students completing this course may not receive credit for IND 401 Prerequisite(s): BUS 300 or IND 301 (3, 0) 3 credits
