Culture change and the social processes involved in this phenomenon are major areas of cultural anthropological research. By using anthropological field work techniques and cross-cultural perspectives, the course examines some of the major issues which confront human beings in a complex, rapidly growing and changing world; such as, population growth, immigration, social conflicts, agricultural development, nutrition, technical assistance and transfer to Third World countries, and the future of small scale homogeneous societies.
