This senior level course has a strategic orientation and is intended for future managers with responsibilities in the areas of finance, operations, management, information technology, and financial and managerial accounting. The course objectives focus on the appropriate use of internal controls in effectively managing and controlling processes across the business enterprise. In addition, the importance of the both the internal and external audit functions are reviewed in conjunction with management's fiduciary responsibilities to the stakeholders of the enterprise. Specific topics include the overall control environment, corporate culture, business ethics and management's responsibilities for implementing, monitoring and reporting on the adequacy of internal operating controls.
