A lecture course designed to relate child development to the social, educational and familial needs of the child with disabilities. This course will cover the various characteristics of young children with special needs and their families, across and within classification. Particular emphasis will focus on how these traits impact on the child's developmental rate, abilities, and sequence. Some intervention strategies will be covered.
