Prerequisites: ECED 4140; admission to Teacher Education. Curriculum development analyzes children's thinking as it influences curriculum design (lesson planning and unit development) in early childhood in the classrooms. Hands-on experiential activities will be emphasized to enhance the adult learners' understanding of Early Childhood social studies curriculum and the importance of meeting the national and state standards for social studies education, while also providing concrete examples for application with young children. Field participation in early childhood settings is required.
