Prerequisite(s): CUAI 4437/5437 and CUAI 4447/5447. This course exposes K-12 practitioners to curricular strategies that have been field tested in K-12 classrooms and found to support student learning. The strategies under investigation were developed by teachers and researchers working together to provide an education to children beginning to learn English. Strategies were selected on the basis of their usefulness in making rigorous core curriculum meaningful to students whose knowledge of English might otherwise hinder their academic progress.
