2 cl hrs, 2 lab hrs, 3 cr An introduction to the aesthetics of scenery lighting as a visual art. Analysis of a script for lighting and the development of a workable design concept. Through this concept and an evaluation of the performers' spatial relationships in the production, students will generate light plots and all of the associated paper work common to a production. Computer software and hardware for this purpose will be used in the laboratory. Additional lab work will include color and angle studies, focusing procedures, the design of projected images, and cueing and record keeping for various production formats.
