2 cl hrs, 2 lab hrs, 3 cr The operating system is the most fundamental program of any computer. It controls all the computer's resources and provides the base upon which the application programs can be written. This course provides an in-depth study of computer hardware and operating system concepts. Focus will be on the command line interface. Students will problem-solve using the command line interface in the Windows environment. Focus will be on command syntax, disk organization, writing simple to complex batch files, troubleshooting and connectivity with local and wide area networks and analysis and backup of the Windows Registry. Prerequisites: MST 1101/MS 101 and CST 1101/CS 101
