2 hours--Prereq.: Admission to the clinical component. Coreq.: 3118. Introduction to the terms, concepts and physiological principles underlying the use of pharmacological agents to promote positive health adaptation in children and adults. Other treatment modalities will be discussed. Students will learn classes of commonly used pharmacological agents including modes of action, usual dosages, contraindications, adverse effects and nursing management of clients receiving medications. Computer testing used in class - times TBA. Classroom 2 hours.
