Specific topics to be discussed include the First World War, the emergence of mass culture, the rise of modernism, the labor and women's rights movements, the interwar crisis and international Depression, the Second World War and Holocaust, European decolonization, the Cold War and resulting "hot wars" from Korea toVietnam, the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the post-Cold War rise of international terrorist movements.
