Indian and European influences and contributions are examined as well as the impact of the United States as successor to Spain in Puerto Rico's 20th century development. Contemporary politics and government of Puerto Rico, including the statehoodommonwealth- independence issues are also reviewed. Prerequisite: CUNY certification in reading and writing
