This is a study of Western art music beginning with the ancient Greeks, including the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Baroque periods. This course will examine essential elements, genres and styles of music, with an emphasis on listening and analysis. The course is open to music majors and minors, or by consent of instructor.
