This course will provide an economic analysis of the sports industry, with special emphasis on the market structure and conduct of baseball, football and hockey as played in the U.S. Topics wil include analysis of the work-leisure decisions of sports fans; trends in the market for sports franchises, players' salaries and their distribution; the competitive balance in sports leagues; and the impact of sports stadiums. Prerequisite: AC 203.
