This is a survey of concepts in environmental chemistry relating to nature, reactions, transport, and analysis of chemicals present in the environment. The chemical reactions and mechanisms involved in energy production/energy resources in the environment, water quality, atmospheric chemistry, and the chemistry of the earth's crust will be emphasized and special topics relevant to modern-day life including waste management/recycling, energy and fossil fuels, and water treatment also will be introduced. Prerequisite: CH 201 (BL 105 is recommended).
