This course emphasizes the role of the sales manager with particular reference to the problems involved in planning the sales effort, managing sales and service personnel, and controlling sales operations. Students learn the mechanics of the sales process and are acquainted with the competencies needed for success and the duties and responsibilities entailed in the many diverse aspects of being a sales manager. The student deals with cases involving typical but practical problem situations confronting sales people and sales managers and tries to solve them. Prerequisite: BU 301.
