4 hours credit A phylogenetic and comparative survey of the animal kingdom that treats evolutionary, ecological, zoogeographical and morphological aspects of each phylum. Emphasis is on classification as it reflects evolutionary adaptation. Economic impact of wild animals on society and natural resource conservation are considered. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 3 hours. Prerequisite: BIOL 1474.
