3 hours credit This course will provide a broad overview of American history using films as vehicles for in-depth examination and discussion of important eras, people, and events. Students will watch and discuss films in class, conduct research into the making of each film and its historical accuracy, and write interpretive research papers on broad hist orical themes discussed in class. Lecture 3 hours. Prerequisite: HIST 1483 or HIST 1493.
