3 hours credit Introduces students to the basis principles of effective written communication as applied in a variety of professional settings (e.g., business, industry,. government). Reviews elements of grammar, mechanics, and style as related to technical writing; trains students in collecting, organizing, presenting and documenting information in formal reports and in writing other kinds of docu ments (e.g., correspondence, proposals, manuals) appropriate to professional settings; encourages students to develop a sense of professionalism about their writing. Lecture 3 hours. Prerequisite: ENGL 1213.
