An introduction to the principles of physical and historical geology. Topics include weathering, erosion, glaciation, volcanism, earthquakes, rocks, minerals, maps, and the origin of the earth and its physical and biological development. Open to all students except those with previous credit in geology, or earth science majors and those nonscience majors who plan an eight-hour sequence in geology. Field trips required. Lab fee required.
