An introduction to the basic concepts, principles, theories and issues essential to professional nursing practice. The professional nurse's role and the role transition from technical to professional status will be emphasized The student will examine personal value systems. The philosophical and theoretical foundations of nursing will be studied and applied to a personal philosophy of nursing.
