Examines the psychiatric nursing experience through mental health concepts of mental health teaching/learning, therapeutic communication, and therapeutic milieu management. Nursing care of common mental alterations such as somatoform disorders, anxiety disorders, dissocative disorders, bereavement, childhood disorders, and personality disorders will also be discussed. PR: All 100 level nursing courses, BIOL 201, 202, 203, 204, MATH 101 or higher, PSYC 103, 210. CO: Third semester nursing courses.
