Full-time employment for at least ten weeks in a mechanical engineering technician position in an industry whose business is relevant to the mechanical engineering field. Work must be of a technical nature and approved by MEET faculty. A statement from the employer as to the satisfactory nature of the student's work, and a written report by the student are required. If employment is not available, an alternative may be the submission of a report of independent research related to the contemporary industrial field from current technical publications. Nature and scope of the report must be approved in advance by instructor. PRE: Sophomore standing (MEET) or consent of instructor.
