Credit not applicable toward degrees. A basic study of English mechanics and grammar, including basic sentence structure, sentence variety, recognition and avoidance of common grammatical errors, designed to prepare students to express themselves effectively in writing. This course is required of students who score less than 9 on the ACT English mechanics/usage subtest or less that 76% on the COMPASS writing diagnostics test. The course may be taken concurrently with ENGL 098 or ENGL 099.
