4 hours Designed both as an end course for those students needing College Algebra/Trigonometry as a requirement for their major and as preparation for those students needing MA130 who have not met the prerequisite. Topics include inequalities, logarithms, theory of equations, systems of equations by determinants, complex numbers, trigonometric functions, graphs, and identities. No credit will be given to those who have passed a calculus course. A graphing calculator is required: the TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus is recommended. Any calculator that performs symbolic manipulation will not be allowed. Prerequisite: Math ACT score of 20, or MA101 with a grade of C or better.
