3 hours A basic consideration of standards and objectives, content, methods, and materials used in teaching social studies in the elementary schools. Methods include the use of concrete experience, technology, group processes, questioning, problem-solving, leading, and techniques of assessment. Students will be required to construct and use teaching and resource units. Prerequisite: One U.S. History course and GO120 Human Geography. Must apply to teacher education or consent of education department chair.
