4-6 4 hours This course is designed to instruct pre-service students in the literacy development and integration of speaking, listening, reading, writing, viewing, and visually representing. Students will gain competence in the skills of designing and managing meaningful reading/language arts learning experiences and in the knowledge of content and methodology recommended to effectively teach and assess children from 4th through 6th grade. Prerequisite: ED304. Must be taken concurrently with ED315. Must be taken the academic year immediately prior to student teaching. Must apply to teacher education or consent of education department chair.
